Introduction: University curricula should include courses and requirements that enhance graduates' skills and prepare them for the challenging job market. Experiential learning is very positive in this field and internships are increasingly considered an important curricular option. The purpose of the present research is to design the ideal model of internship curriculum for university technical-engineering fields based on the ten elements of Akar.
Methods: The current research is practical in terms of purpose; In order to design the ideal model of the internship curriculum, the synthesis research method (thematic analysis of interviews and document study) has been used. The population and statistical sample includes professors of educational sciences, technical-engineering fields and scientific resources including books, articles and treatises related to research. The sampling method was criteria-based and documentary studies and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data. The method of data analysis is thematic analysis.
Results: According to the Akar curriculum design model, the logic of the technical-engineering internship curriculum will enable students to solve challenges and apply what they have learned. Acquiring qualifications and continuity and sustainability of students' job performance should be one of the goals of the internship curriculum. Internship curriculum evaluation should be done in the real environment, based on accurate criteria and by direct observation of students' performance.
Conclusion: It is necessary for planners and employers to pay attention to the indicators specified in the internship program template in order to improve the efficiency of internship courses.
