The Role of Structural Empowerment in the Relationship between Psychological Capital and Innovative Behavior (Case Study: General Department of Education of Mazandaran Province)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of psychological capital in innovative behavior through structural empowerment. The method of this research is quantitative; It is practical in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in nature. The statistical population includes 280 employees of the General Department of Education of Mazandaran Province. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan table and 162 people were selected as a statistical sample by random sampling. To collect the research data, three standard questionnaires of psychological capital, Lutans and Olivier (2007), Johnson''s innovative behavior (2000) and structural empowerment of Kordnaij and Bakhshizadeh (2015) were used. To determine the validity of the questionnaires, convergent and divergent validity tests were used and to assess the reliability, they were confirmed by Cronbach''s alpha method, which were 0.824, 0.851 and 0.902, respectively. . Structural equation modeling and Smart PLS3 statistical software were used to analyze the obtained data. Analysis of the collected data showed that psychological capital has a positive and significant effect on employees'' innovative behavior. The mediating role of structural empowerment in the relationship between psychological capital and innovative behavior of employees was also confirmed.
