Investigating the lived experience of the causes of school dropout of students in the marginal areas of Ardabil

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the lived experience of secondary school dropouts in the suburbs of Ardabil. This qualitative study was conducted with the participation and accompaniment of 18 drop-out students in the period of 1401-1396 in Ardabil city through purposive sampling and semi-structured interviews and the qualitative content analysis method was used to analyze the obtained information. The results showed that the reasons for dropping out of high school students are: personal factors (physical, psychological and personality barriers / negative attitude to continue education) and environmental factors (economy and livelihood / defective family function / dysfunctional educational environment / environment Improper life / injuries during school). The research results showed; Characteristics and factors that have caused secondary school students to drop out of school in the suburbs of Ardabil; It is a set of individual and environmental factors, so it is suggested that the country's education system to remove obstacles and implement the solutions obtained from this research to be effective in preventing the dropout of these students.
