The effectiveness of Rumis spiritual Masnavi stories on self-esteem and psychological weel-being

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Rumi's spiritual Masnavi stories on students' self-esteem and psychological well-being. The method of the present study was experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the study includes all first grade high school students in Ardabil city who were studying in the 1400-1401 academic year. Forty students were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Research instruments included the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Questionnaire (1965) and Psychological Well-Being (Reef 1989). Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance. Findings showed that the stories of Masnavi Manavi have been effective on self-esteem and psychological well-being of students. Therefore, spiritual Masnavi stories can be used to increase self-esteem, psychological well-being and improve students' performance.Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance.
