Abstract

The aim of this research is the effect of learning engagement (behavioral, emotional and cognitive) on the satisfaction of e-learning among secondary school female students in Zarindasht city: the role of the moderating variable of communication and technical barriers to e-learning.

research methodology: Using Cochran's formula and simple random sampling method, 235 sample members were selected from the statistical population. To collect data, the standard questionnaires of engagement for learning Sun and Ruda (2012), satisfaction with e-learning from the standard questionnaire of Abu Sida and Mustafa (2017) and barriers to e-learning from the standard questionnaire of Abu Sida and Mustafa (2017) were used. It should be noted that the type of correlation research and the strategy used is survey. Due to the existence of the moderator variable and the complexity of the model, Smart PLS software was used.

Findings:

The results of structural equation model analysis showed that learning engagement and its dimensions (behavioral enthusiasm, emotional enthusiasm and cognitive enthusiasm) have an effect on the satisfaction of e-learning. E-learning communication barriers have a negative moderating role in the relationship between learning engagement and e-learning satisfaction; however, the technical barriers of e-learning do not play a moderating role in the relationship between learning engagement and e-learning satisfaction, and this hypothesis was rejected.

Conclusion: Learning motivation and its components affect satisfaction with e-learning.
