Identifying Digital Leadership Structures in the Iranian Insurance Industry with a Meta-Synthesis Approach

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify digital leadership structures in the Iranian insurance industry with a meta-synthesis approach. This research is based on the paradigm of pragmatism and an inductive approach, and a nested research design was used. For this purpose, reputable domestic and foreign databases were searched, including the Comprehensive Portal of Humanities, Normags, Jihad Daneshgah, Science Direct, Scopus, ProQuest, and Emerald. In the period 2011-2024 and 2015-2025, a total of 31 articles were identified, and after content evaluation, 21 articles were purposefully selected and entered into the analysis. The data were analyzed using a meta-synthesis qualitative method and through open, axial, and selective coding stages. Based on the results, 72 subcategories were identified within 12 main categories, including digital vision and transformation strategy, digital culture and organizational agility, customer experience in the digital ecosystem, digital leadership, digital supply chain in insurance, digital innovation and business models, technological skills of managers, cybersecurity and data protection, emerging technologies in digital insurance, international cooperation and digital competitiveness, human resource management in the digital ecosystem, and digital policymaking and regulation.
