The purpose of the current research is to identify and measure strategic leadership competencies among education managers in Shiraz. This research was conducted with a mixed approach (qualitative-quantitative) and using a sequential exploratory research design. Document analysis method was used in the qualitative part and descriptive-survey method in the quantitative part. The statistical population of the quantitative part included all school principals and employees of the four departments of Shiraz, among which 200 managers and 105 employees were selected by simple random sampling. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire to measure the strategic leadership competencies of education managers, which was distributed and data collected after calculating its validity and reliability. The results of the research showed that the level of strategic leadership competencies of the managers of the research area in all five areas of competencies, except the competencies of strategic intelligence, which is lower than the average level, the rest of the competencies, including the competency Value-secretary, interpersonal, cultural and superior performance are in the range between the average and optimal levels. Also, the competencies were examined based on the demographic characteristics (gender, educational qualification and service history) and no significant difference was observed in other characteristics except for the gender variable.
