Background and Objective: The present study aimed to design and validate an organizational ambidexterity model in East Azerbaijan Province's education.
Research methodology: This research is applied in terms of purpose and employs a mixed-methods approach (qualitative-quantitative) of the sequential exploratory type; accordingly, the qualitative phase draws on grounded theory, while the quantitative phase utilizes a descriptive-survey method. In the qualitative phase, utilizing grounded theory, interviews were conducted with 15 experts via purposive sampling until saturation was reached. The data were analyzed through open, axial, and selective coding. The trustworthiness of the findings was ensured using Lincoln and Guba's criteria, member checking, and the Delphi technique rounds with 10 experts. In the phase, the statistical population consisted of 275 managers, of whom 160 were selected through stratified sampling on table. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire based on the six components of the grounded theory model, whose validity and reliability were confirmed. Quantitative data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with the partial least squares approach and Smart PLS software.
Findings: The findings revealed that the organizational ambidexterity model comprised 6 selective codes, 26 axial codes, and 262 open codes, organized into six main components: causal conditions, contextual conditions, intervening conditions, strategies, consequences, and the core phenomenon. Furthermore, the GOF index of 0.51 indicated a very good model fit.
Conclusion: The results of this study can serve as a foundation for strategic management of the educational system and pave the way for improving learning, legitimacy, and social trust in education.
