The aim of this study was to design and validate a model for developing critical thinking in elementary school students in Ardabil. The research was applied in terms of its objective, mixed in terms of data nature, and exploratory in terms of implementation method.. The qualitative statistical population consisted of university faculty members in the field of educational sciences, from whom 14 participants were purposefully selected based on the principle of theoretical saturation. In the quantitative phase, the statistical population included all elementary school teachers in Ardabil during the 2023–2024 academic year (N = 2,600). Using Cochran's formula, 335 teachers were selected through a non-random convenience sampling method. The research findings indicated that the model for developing critical thinking in elementary students in Ardabil encompasses the following components: creative thinking, spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence, attention to individual needs and interests, support for intellectual diversity, problem-based learning opportunities, development of reasoning, evaluation, and problem-solving skills, interactive and group learning activities, innovative teaching methods, performance-based tasks, encouragement of real-world engagement, continuous assessment and feedback, use of digital tools, flexible thinking, information evaluation skills, and self-confidence and self-efficacy. The model showed an acceptable level of validity and goodness of fit (p<0.05). Ultimately, it is recommended that the findings of this study be used as a general guideline and roadmap for fostering critical thinking among elementary students in Ardabil.
